Zenith seals 1200-car employee ownership deal

Date: 25 February 2010   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Zenith Provecta has won a contract with GlaxoSmithKline to fund and manage 1200 vehicles in its employee car ownership scheme on a sole supply and fully outsourced basis.

The contract, for an undisclosed period and previously held by Masterlease, includes maintenance, breakdown recovery, accident management, short-term hire and optional early termination and guaranteed asset protection (GAP) insurance. Employees fund their vehicles using a cash allowance.

At the end of the contract, GSK employees can hand back the car to the provider, sell it privately to repay the loan or repay the outstanding loan and keep the car.

The fleet company provides monthly payroll files to GSK to help with HMRC compliant payments as well as a staff website that allows staff to obtain quotes and place vehicle orders. They can also trade up or down from their allowance, manage the administration of the vehicle through its life cycle and submit monthly mileage returns.

Zenith Provecta's MyMiles system also asks health and safety questions before allowing each entry to be recorded and lets participants upload fuel card spend information.
