Advisory Fuel Rates remain stagnant

Date: 30 August 2011

Advisory Fuel Rates are staying the same for the next three months, HM Revenue and Customs has announced, which means company car drivers will pay the same amount for the fuel they claim as previously.

The rates were last increased in June with the latest AFRs set to take effect on 1 September. AFRs are now reviewed on a quarterly basis, after pressure from ACFO and rising gas prices.

But for this quarter, all rates have stayed the same apart from a 1p per mile decrease for LPG-powered cars with an engine size from 1401cc to 2000cc.

The new rates are shown below:

Petrol
1400cc or less 15p
1401cc to 2000cc 18p
Over 2000cc 26p

Diesel
1600cc or less 12p
1601cc to 2000cc 15p
Over 2000cc 18p

LPG
1400cc or less 11p
1401cc to 2000cc 12p
Over 2000cc 18p
