ARI buys Fleet Support Group

Date: 19 December 2011   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The UK's biggest independent fleet management company, Fleet Support Group (FSG) has been acquired by US firm Automotive Resources International (ARI).

The move will see FSG expand its business into Europe and allow ARI, the second largest fleet management firm in the US, to make inroads in the UK.

FSG, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2012, currently handles over 55,000 vehicles in the UK and manages fleets for Network Rail, WHSmith and Travis Perkins among others. The company claimed that there would be no change to its staffing as a result of the acquisition.

Chairman and founder of FSG, Geoffrey Bray, said: "Both FSG and ARI are privately-owned family business and have a similar ethos of partnering with customers and driving efficiency through pro-active management and a zero-tolerance approach to unauthorised expenditures. Both organisations partner with their customers to create solutions that enables a fleet to perform at peak efficiency."
