Fluence books Prime Time slot

Date: 07 July 2011

Renault's first version of its Fluence Z.E electric car will cost just under £18,000 on-the-road when it goes on sale next year.

The Prime Time's £17,850 price tag includes the £5000 Plug-in Car Grant and customers will also have to cover the battery lease of £75 per month (based on 6000 miles per year/3 years).

Nevertheless, Renault claims the Fluence Z.E will be the UK's most affordable electric car and even undercut comparably sized diesel models.

It is the third model in Renault's electric vehicle family following the Kangoo Van Z.E and the Twizy.

The Fluence develops 70kW (95hp) 226Nm torque and has a range of up to 115 miles.

The five-seat, four-door saloon includes equipment such as 16-inch alloys, auto lights and wipers, climate control, cruise control, ecometer and carminat TomTom sat nav.

Renault has announced that the Prime Time version of the Fluence Z.E is available to reserve on-line now for £20 at www.renault-ze.com.
