The start point for the best source of fleet information

Ford swaps Lex for ALD

Date: 21 February 2011

Ford boss Nigel Sharp

Ford has moved the supply of its Ford Lease fleet financing arm from Lex Autolease to ALD Automotive.

Lex had been Ford's supplier for seven years, but the contract has moved to ALD, which also took on operation of GM?UK's own-brand lease product in September 2009. ALD already has a similar arrangement with Saab and Kia., as well as Vauxhall and Chevrolet.

Ford Lease is the new branding for Ford Business Partner, as the business leasing arm of Ford Credit was previously known. The deal went live from 1 February.

Nobody from Ford was available to comment on why the change to ALD occurred, or whether it will lead to an increased range of services. Ford's UK boss Nigel Sharp spoke at an event last week about the increased demand for services such as flexi-leases as the economy recovers, while last summer ALD revealed a 50% rise in take-up of its PoolFleet flexi-lease product.
