The start point for the best source of fleet information

Kwik-Fit stocks up for winter demand

Date: 13 October 2011

Kwik Fit has stockpiled 200,000 winter tyres worth £20 million for fleet operators to avoid it struggling with demand after two hard winters.

The number of tyres stored by Kwik Fit is four times the amount available last year and although it issued an informal deadline for orders by the end of last month the company will "do its best to meet demand by tyres as quickly as possible".

Kwik-Fit's sales director Peter Lambert said meteorologists had already warned that the first harsh weather could materialise this month, and recommended that winter tyres should be fitted for use between October and the end of March.
