Lex cuts fleet CO2

Date: 29 November 2011   |   Author:

The average CO2 emissions of new cars taken on by the UK's biggest leasing firm Lex Autolease in 2011 was 132.7g/km, while the firm's overall fleet average has dropped by 3% from 149.5g/km to 144.6g/km.

The firm claims CO2 on its fleet of around 300,000 vehicles has fallen as a result of "leading-edge consultancy and dedicated fleet managers" as well as the introduction of new technology by manufacturers, and claims the cars taken on this year make its fleet "one of the cleanest in the country".

"Using environmental best practice is a great way to lower overall costs, but it's important to keep pushing the boundaries in order to mitigate against the impact of strengthening CO2 legislation," said Lex Autolease commercial director Mark Chessman.
