Optimism from fleet managers

Date: 27 April 2011

Cautious optimism from fleet managers has been revealed by a new survey, with 35% of the 300 interviewed by GE Capital Fleet services predicting an increase in car numbers over the next six months. Just over half, 55%, predicted no change, while 11% thought their vehicle numbers would drop over the next half-year. The numbers compare with 37% who reported an increase over the last six months, 48% that experienced no change and 14% that decreased.

The Company Car Trends survey also found that 38% predict the economy will improve through the rest of 2011.

"We are on a path towards a stronger economy," said GE Capital UK fleet commercial director Gary Killeen. "Though the journey will probably be bumpy for a while, our research clearly indicates that there is a growing sense of optimism among car fleet operators."
