Renault Scenic range updated

Date: 13 December 2011

Renault has updated its Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs with a mild facelift, two new engines and more equipment. Both cars appear broadly similar to the outgoing models, save for revised front ends, LED daytime running lights, gloss black/chrome trim and new rear lamps.

A 110hp 1.5-litre dCi turbodiesel engine with stop/start joins the range promising 105g/km and 68.9mpg in both the Scenic and the Grand Scenic (23g/km and 11.3mpg better than the existing 1.5 dCi). The 115hp 1.2-litre TCe petrol replaces the 1.6 VVT 110, offering 135g/km and 49.6mpg in the Scenic and 140g/km and 46.3mpg in the Grand Scenic.

New kit consists of Renault's Visio System - a driver assistance package including lane departure warning and automatic low- and high-beam headlights and Hill Start Assist.

Prices have yet to be announced but a modest rise is expected. Both models will go on sale in March 2012.
