Renault suffers tech supply issue

Date: 23 May 2011

Renault has had to drop Bluetooth from standard fitment to several of its model lines due to component supply issues following the Japanese earthquake.

Drivers receiving new cars now will be a dash-mounted aftermarket kit instead of the integrated system.

No discount is being offered if drivers opt not to take the aftermarket system. Models hit by the parts shortages include the Megane, Scenic and Laguna (pictured).

However, Renault expects the supply issue to be resolved soon and those ordering cars now will have the standard Bluetooth kit fitted.
