The start point for the best source of fleet information

Service key to Auto Windscreens

The revived Auto Windscreens business is back looking for fleet contracts, according to managing director Nigel Davies, who told BusinessCar that a key change from the previous business that collapsed last month will be a focus on customer service.

Auto Windscreens Ltd was closed by liquidator Deloitte after cash flow problems and the loss of a key Aviva contract, but the brand name, head office, two other sites and the lease on 20 others was acquired from Deloitte by insurance specialist Markerstudy Group, which set up a division called Trifords to house its acquisition. Former Auto Windscreens Ltd boss Nigel Davies was appointed to run the new organisation.

"We're in a much better place, we're going to be completely customer focused," said Davies. "It's fair to say that Auto Windscreens Ltd lost its focus on customer service, but this is a new branch-based business serving the local community and everything we're doing is placing the customer at the forefront." He described the fleet sector as a "key opportunity" for the company, as one of three targets, along with motor insurance and local customers.

Davies said Auto Windscreens is effectively a new business starting from scratch, although the short period of time between the old business failing and establishment of the new Auto Windscreens will work in its favour, as many people may not even be aware of the change. "I'm pleased to see the Auto Windscreens brand has come through relatively unscathed, and we've now got a lot of work to do," he said.
