Taxi fleet hails Prius

Airport taxi service Checker Cars has ordered 80 Toyota Prius models for its fleet.
Checker Cars has already taken delivery of the first five hybrid models, which will be integrated into its 80-strong fleet at its office in Stansted, Essex.
A further 10 Prius models will arrive at Stansted over the next two months.
Toyota dealers will deliver the remaining cars in the coming months to Checker Cars' other offices serving the airports at Gatwick, Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton and Heathrow.
Hills Toyota of Woodford Green in Essex is supplying the models to Stansted.
Checker Cars' boss David Crouch said: "We will expect to replace the cars every couple of years. We're initially using them at Stansted but will then involve our other airports."
Crouch said the Prius' green credentials appealed to Checker Cars.
"Our environmental policy is to reduce emissions wherever possible and we're looking for more economy in the operation of the fleet because with fuel prices as they are that's becoming more important. The Congestion Charge is also a factor."
The Prius T4 has CO2 emissions of 92g/km and fuel consumption of 70.6mpg on the combined cycle, according to Toyota.
