Techies 2011 - Best Risk Management System: GreenRoad 360

Date: 23 August 2011

Highly commended last year, GreenRoad 360 wins the award for Best Risk Management system. The real-time system feeds back to drivers instantly while the online portal gives analysis of trips and fleet performance with areas of risk highlighted. A typical GreenRoad customer is claimed to see a 50% crash reduction and up to 10% drop in fuel consumption.

The company says that insurance partners including Zurich and Towergate offer the system to their clients to help manage risk, cut accident claims, and negotiate more favourable insurance premiums. The data helps insurers "develop effective risk management strategies and tailor insurance offerings".

One GreenRoad 360 customer has seen driver risk drop 63% and its crash rate reduced by 89% since February 2010.

Such was the competition in this category, the judges felt it necessary to award two Highly Commendeds.

Winner for the last two years, E-Training World addresses the issue of drivers being put through the same training each year. Its online systems have 32 modules which can be tailored individually and also provide short bursts of regular training.

The other Highly Commended goes to Inchcape Fleet Solutions for its Grey Matters system, developed to provide transparency over a company's grey fleet, ensuring own-car business drivers are regulated and managed in the same way as company car drivers. The system helps prove a firm has taken all necessary duty of care measures.
