Insurance company Towergate Underwriting is offering the GreenRoad 360 fleet driver performance and safety management system to its clients in a bid to cut accident costs and fuel consumption.
Towergate has already signed up customers such as EJ Masters Nightfreight and Transworld Logistics(TWL) to use GreenRoad 360.
GreenRoad claims Masters Nightfreight, which runs a fleet ranging from small vans to articulated trucks, has recorded a 65% reduction in risk due to a substantial improvement in driver behaviour.
John Allen, operations manager at EJ Masters Nightfreight, said: "We admit we had a poor track record when it came to road incidents. In fact insurance became our largest business expense. Thankfully Towergate introduced us to GreenRoad resulting in huge reduction in incidents."
TWL is installing GreenRoad 360 in 125 delivery vans. In a pilot project using the system, it saw a 45% improvement in safety.
