Vauxhall launches iphone app for business drivers

Date: 28 September 2011

Vauxhall has launched a new iphone app, RoadTrip, which it claims provides drivers with a convenient way to track their business journeys.

With a range of features designed to track business miles, Vauxhall said Roadtrip would make it easier for drivers to create their mileage claims by enabling them to build up a library of frequently visited locations without having to enter the same information more than once.

Vauxhall said RoadTrip allows users to enter a destination and plan a route from any vehicle and then rely upon the app to calculate mileage rates, the cost of the journey and any other likely expenses.

The device also supplies previews of expense reports, which can be emailed as CSV files that company car users can send to their managers.

Vauxhall claimed all essential data can be backed up, password protected and accessed on other devices in order to reduce errors and increase accuracy.

Vauxhall's fleet boss Steve Catlin said: "When traveling on a daily basis, recurring expenses can cause frustration for employees. RoadTrip combines navigational tools with smart calculation software to offer an easy to use app for any employee on the road."

The application can be downloaded from the App store under Vauxhall RoadTrip.
