Vauxhall has revealed a new powerful and frugal version of its Insignia. Known as the BiTurbo, it features a twin-turbocharged diesel engine with 195hp and emissions of 129g/km on certain models.

The engine is available with both the hatchback and the Sports Tourer estate models as well as front- and four-wheel drive versions, and starts at £27,120. The fastest and most efficient model, the front-wheel drive hatchback, is capable of 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and 57.6mpg. The company has also made its Flexride adaptive damping system available on all BiTurbo models, which usually costs an additional £790 on standard front-wheel drive Insignias.
