ACFO confirms Olympic travel seminar

Date: 01 February 2012

Fleet operators' association ACFO has announced an Olympic seminar, aiming to help businesses plan for the travel disruption expected around the London Olympics this summer.

To be held on 1 March at Ford's headquarters in Brentwood, Essex, and free to ACFO members, speakers that will address the issue include representatives from Transport for London, the Institute of Travel Management and the Freight Transport Association.

The Government has declared its intention to reduce non-Olympic transport demand by 30% during the Olympics and Paralympics, which run from 27 July to 12 August, and 29 August to 9 September respectively.

"Doing nothing is not an option," said ACFO chairman Julie Jenner.

"Although London is the focal point of the games, there are events taking place in many other towns and cities. Organisations may be located many miles from London, but they would be wrong to think that the games will not impact on them."
