X3

BMW has announced a new entry-level X3 priced from £28,580 and offering the best emissions and fuel consumptions in the model line-up.

The new BMW X3 sDrive 18d goes on sale in October and is the first X3 to have rear-wheel drive.

Powered by a 143hp 2.0-litre diesel engine and six-speed manual, the car emits 135g/km CO2 (21% benefit-in-kind) with fuel consumption of 55.4mpg, compared with the next model in the line-up, the xDrive 20d, with 149g/km and 50.4mpg. An eight-speed auto gearbox is also available.

At £28,850, the X3 sDrive 18d SE starts at £2890 less than the xDrive20d and keeps all standard equipment except Hill Descent Control, which is reserved for four-wheel drive models.

Specification includes auto stop/start, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery and BMW iDrive with 6.5-inch colour screen.
