BT Fleet remaps vehicles to boost economy and emissions

Date: 30 November 2012   |   Author:

BT Fleet has partnered with vehicle remapping specialist Viezu Technologies in a move that will see 24,000 of BT's vehicles remapped to improve fuel economy and emissions.

The modifications will govern parameters such as the throttle, revs, speed and power limits, and are also claimed to improve the vehicles' drivability.

Vehicles will receive the modification as and when they check in for MoTs and regular servicing work, and 5000 have already been converted. The upgrade is said to deliver a saving of more than £3m.

Steve Watson, senior innovation and design specialist at BT Fleet, said: "Remapping our vehicles for economy and better environmental performance makes complete sense, but it's not just these benefits which make it appealing.

"Once we saw what was technically possible, we crunched the numbers and the business case also stacked up."
