BVRLA launches Guide to Vehicle Funding

Date: 07 August 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The BVRLA has published the Guide to Vehicle Funding, a digital publication aimed at helping fleet decision-makers work out the most effective way to finance their vehicles.

It was produced in association with Peugeot and business tax specialist Deloitte and contains details on tax changes affecting company vehicles announced in the 2012 Budget along with explanations to help fleets compare the workings and accounting methods involved in contract hire, finance lease, contract purchase, hire or lease purchase and outright purchase.

It is free of charge and can be found on the BVRLA's website www.bvrla.co.uk.

Dan Rees, senior manager at Deloitte Car Consulting said: "Vehicle funding is an essential fleet decision. Various changes to tax rules have meant that there can be a big difference between the least and most expensive options, which is accentuated by the financial position of the acquiring company and the type of vehicle.

"We recommend checking the financial comparison between buying or leasing a fleet car, particularly if this hasn't been reviewed for some years."
