Chevrolet is to build the Trax 4x4

Chevrolet has revealed details of the production version of its upcoming small SUV, the Trax, which goes on sale early in 2013.

It will be offered with a choice of 130hp 1.7-litre diesel and 1.6 petrol and 140hp 1.4 turbo petrol engines.

While offered as a front-drive car as standard, a four-wheel drive option will be available on the diesel and 1.4T petrol engines. The small SUV is expected to be priced from £15,000.

The Trax will have a 358-litre boot, 60:40 split-folding rear seats and a front passenger Seat that folds flat.

Higher trim grades will also be offered with Chevrolet MyLink as standard.

MyLink is an infotainment system that displays content from smartphones on a seven-inch, high-resolution, full-colour touch-screen display.
