Citroen DS3 Cabrio revealed

Date: 03 September 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Citroen has revealed the DS3 Cabio, an open-topped version of the existing hatchback with a roll-back canvas roof.

The conversion from hatch to convertible has added 25kg, which is a quarter of the usual weight associated with such a change according to Citroen, and the roof can be opened and closed electronically at up to 74mph.

The French firm is also claiming that the DS3 Cabio is both the only five-seat model and has the largest boot in its class at 245 litres.

Other features include improved soundproofing and bespoke LED taillights and engines are expected to be carried over from the hatchback.

The roof will be available in three different finishes: black, 'infiniti' blue and a DS monogrammed design and the car is due to be unveiled in the metal at this month's Paris motor show.
