Energy Saving Trust runs driver training roadshow

Date: 06 July 2012

The Energy Saving Trust has launched a national nine-month roadshow programme to encourage company car drivers to take up its Smarter Driving training.

Around 9000 employees across England, working for organisations which operate business fleets of more than 20 vehicles, will be trained by the EST over the next nine months.

The roadshow, which will kick off at Northumberland County Council this month, involves a 50-minute training course covering efficient-driving techniques and is subsidised by the Department of Transport, costing £25 per person.

The EST claims the training can shave up to 15 percent off companies' fuel bills with major firms such as Boots, Procter & Gamble, BAE Systems, Vauxhall and the NHS already benefiting from cost savings as a result of training.
