EV charging point reservations for London drivers

Date: 10 December 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

A new initiative by charging point manufacturer Chargemaster has made it possible for drivers to reserve a charging point for an electric vehicle in the capital.

The scheme, which also involves energy firm SSE, Source London and website parkatmyhouse.com, sees London homeowners offered complimentary fitting of charging points and the opportunity to rent their driveway out to EV drivers visiting the city via the parkatmyhouse website.

EV drivers have not been able to reserve charging points until now and early adopters of the scheme are reporting positive results.

Mark Jabbal from Uxbridge, has reported 75 bookings since signing up earlier in the year. He said: "It's great to be able add to the services I can offer drivers.

"Now they can park and charge their cars at my house. I'm also planning to buy an electric car so there's an additional benefit for me too."
