The start point for the best source of fleet information

Free vehicle-safety recall system set for launch

Date: 03 September 2012   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

A free-to-use electronic vehicle-safety recall system for fleets is set to go live this month.

Created by online solutions provider Ebbon-Dacs in partnership with the BVRLA, ReCare offers a standardised recall system for members who that and operate a total of over 2.5 million vehicles.

With almost one million vehicles recalled in the UK in 2010, the system is intended to provide a single location for all manufacturers to list their safety recall notifications.

BVRLA members can then retrieve the information by inputting their own fleet data for comparison purposes.

As well as showing all new vehicle-safety recall notifications, it also highlights vehicles with outstanding recalls to their fleet operator.

Ebbon-Dacs said: "Our primary objective in introducing this new 'standard' on behalf of the BVRLA has always been to simplify the process and reduce the admin burden fleets face in handling vehicle recalls.

"We believe that in delivering this system it will lead to greater efficiency, lower costs and faster safety recall handling in future."
