FTA launches Company Car Drivers' Handbook

Date: 12 June 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The Freight Transport Association has produced a guide to help corporate drivers plan and manage their journeys.

Called the Company Car Drivers' Handbook, the publication includes information on driver licencing, vehicle checks and safe and efficient driving styles among other elements.

The handbook is sponsored by Shell, endorsed by ACFO and costs £3 for FTA members and £3.25 for non-members, although the organisation says discounts are available for those ordering in bulk.

Sally Thornley, general manager for compliance information services at the FTA, said: "We have produced this publication as a direct result of requests from our members and it makes a welcome addition to the highly valued FTA Goods Vehicle Drivers' Handbook and Van Drivers' Handbook.

"Designed to be used in conjunction with an organisation's specific policies, such as on mobile phone use or dealing with accidents, it should help anyone who drives a car for business purposes stay both safe and within the law."
