The start point for the best source of fleet information

Government offers free EV business plans

Date: 04 April 2012

The Government is encouraging fleet take-up of electric vehicles by offering a free EV business plan.

Run by the Energy Saving Trust and funded by Transport for London and the Department of Transport, the Plugged-in Fleets initiative will offer up to 20 fleets the opportunity to develop strategic plans for the introduction of EVs.

The initiative follows the publication of the Plugged-in Fleets report, which identified that businesses can save money when selectively introducing EVs within their fleets.

Robin Haycock, project liaison manager for the Energy Saving Trust, said: "TfL and DfT have backed this initiative to bring the fleet analysis expertise of the Energy Saving Trust to fleets to help accelerate the drive towards plugged in vehicles.

"Forward-thinking businesses know that sustainability is not just 'doing the right thing' - it can actually increase profits and reduce fuel consumption. We'll be helping the leaders in the field make a real change this year."

The deadline for applications, via www.est.org.uk, is 16 April 2012.
