Kia Sorento 4x4 updated

Date: 29 June 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Kia has upgraded its Sorento 4x4, adding a revised exterior, a new chassis and cleaner engines.

Due on sale in autumn, it features minor exterior revisions including revised headlamps and bumpers and front and rear LED lights.

The interior has also been upgraded and contains more soft-touch plastics, a new seven-inch display screen and a larger panoramic sunroof on top-end models.

The upgraded platform is expected to be borrowed from the latest Hyundai Santa Fe, rendering the new Sorento significantly lighter than the outgoing car.

This, along with tweaks to the engines, will result in lower emissions and better fuel economy, although exact figures have yet to be confirmed. Equipment levels are also set to improve, but exact details and pricing will be announced closer to the car's on-sale date.
