Land Rover Freelander: New interior and tech for new model

Date: 07 September 2012   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Land Rover has revamped its Freelander 2 with its second mid-life makeover since going on sale five years ago.

The 4x4 gets exterior design tweaks, a brand-new interior as well as more trims and an improved entertainment system.

Both front and rear lights get the latest LED technology and three new paint colours Aintree Green, Havana and Mauritius Blue have been added.

Inside, there's a brand new centre console replacing the messy layout of the current car, which features a five-inch screen.

Technology includes a new electric parking brake which adjusts brake force according to the slope the vehicle is parked on, keyless start, a voice activation system with visual prompts and rear view camera capability.

The most efficient Freelander 2 remains the two-wheel drive eD4, which was launched last year, with 158g/km CO2 and fuel consumption of 47.1mpg.
