The start point for the best source of fleet information

Leasedrive retains BAT contract

Date: 10 February 2012   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

Leasedrive Group, the UK's biggest independent privately owned vehicle management group, has retained its contract with British American Tobacco to continue being the firm's sole supplier of contract hire and fleet management services.

The world's second-largest quoted tobacco group in market-share terms has extended the deal for a further three years.

BAT's fleet consists of 350 vehicles, with 48% under contact hire and the remainder owned by the tobacco company.

Leasedrive's commercial director Roddy Graham said retaining BAT's business, which has been in the group's portfolio since 2004, had involved a "very through and comprehensive re-tender exercise".

Graham said BAT operates a user-chooser policy to maximise the attractiveness of employee benefits.

Leasedrive's support services include online driver licence checks, accident management and vehicle rental services. Viv Windrum, BAT's UK fleet manager, said Leasedrive's "quality service" played its part in underlining the company car "as part of an employee's total reward package. After all, it is one of the most valuable, high-profile and emotive employee benefits."

He added: "Leasedrive continually improves the products and services it offers to us to make the employee driver experience the best available."
