The start point for the best source of fleet information

Manheim acquires motors.co.uk

Date: 11 April 2012

Manheim is expanding its services after acquiring used car sales website motors.co.uk, the second largest in the UK after Auto Trader.

MD of Manheim Retail Services, John Simpson, said the move will be "of particular benefit to manufacturer and dealer customers and may, over time, evolve to be of benefit to fleet customers".

Manheim chief executive John Bailey added: "We've had a growing presence in this important market with our own sites All Approved Cars and, more recently, Carmony.

He continued: "It has been our stated strategy for some time to further facilitate the links between the wholesale and retail markets and ensure our customers can take full advantage of the obvious synergies."

Motors.co.uk chief executive Garry Hobson commented that one of the first impacts for the website would be to combine its used vehicle listings with those offered through Carmony, which will create a selection of over 230,000 vehicles.

There are no immediate plans to change operations, and employees will transfer to Manheim.
