Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an estate version of its four-door coupe CLS, the CLS Shooting Brake.

On sale in November, prices are yet to be announced but will carry a premium over the standard CLS which starts from £46,865.

The line-up is simple with two engines, the 250 CDI BlueEfficiency, a 2.1-litre 204hp unit, emitting 139g/km CO2 or the 350 CDI BlueEfficiency with a 3.0-litre 264hp output and 159g/km CO2.

Both models will have Mercedes' 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission as well as Eco start/stop.

The car has 590 litres of load space, expanding to 1550 litres with the rear seats folded down, and will come with a powered tailgate. The Shooting Brake also offers three rear seats compared to the normal CLS which only offers two.

Mercedes said the car "is a special proposition for people looking to differentiate themselves from the mainstream, and who do not wish to compromise on either sportiness or stowage space when it comes to travelling in style".
