New fleet premises for Hitachi

Date: 02 October 2012   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Hitachi Capital has been granted planning permission for new commercial fleet premises in Trowbridge.

The company said the move was a result of outgrowing its current offices and that new site will meet the fleet provider's need for a main office building with commercial vehicle storage and additional space for cleaning and preparation.

Managing director Jon Lawes said: "We are delighted that Wiltshire Council has granted us planning permission for the new site. As outlined in our plans, we intend to create new premises that are both visually attractive to the local area and sensitive to the environment.

"The Council was satisfied with our plans and affirmed the economic benefits for Trowbridge that comes with having a global business in the community.

"These benefits include future recruitment as we commit to jobs for local residents."

As well as the existing regular bus service, Hitachi Capital will provide facilities for cyclists as well as charging points for the company's growing electric vehicle fleet at the new site.
