New managing director at Volvo UK

Date: 28 May 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Volvo has appointed Nick Connor as its new UK managing director.

Connor, who will also be responsible for the firm's operations in Ireland and Icelandic UK subsidiaries, has been officially appointed to the role after working as acting MD since the departure of his predecessor Peter Rask in 2011.

Connor has worked for Volvo Car UK for the past 16 years and has held the roles of sales director, group solicitor and company secretary.

Speaking about his appointment, he said: "Being asked to lead such an important and well-recognised brand at such an important time of its recent development is a great honour and responsibility. Volvo's new Designed Around You brand strategy is developing very positively and the new V40 five-door hatchback, due in showrooms in the summer is, arguably, the most important car for Volvo in terms of volume development for the last decade."
