Peugeot announces electric Partner van

Date: 20 September 2012   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

The Peugeot Partner, restyled in spring this year, is extending its range to include an electric version.

Expected in the second quarter of 2013, the small van is equipped with an electric drive train operated by two high-energy lithium-ion battery packs with a capacity of 22.5kW/h, which will deliver 67bhp of power and 200Nm of torque instantly.

Partner Electric benefits from two charging modes for its battery: a normal charge (up to 16A) in six to nine hours and a fast charge (up to 125A) allowing recovery of 80% of the capacity of the batteries in only 30 minutes.

Peugeot said that the range of 105 miles on the European cycle (NEDC) places Partner Electric as the new benchmark in the electric small van segment.

The carmaker added that a new traditionally fuelled engine will arrive this November, offering emissions of 118g/km.
