The start point for the best source of fleet information

US fleet firm acquires FSG

Date: 06 January 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The UK's biggest independent fleet management company, Fleet Support Group, has been acquired by Automotive Resources International.

The move will see FSG expand its business into Europe and allow ARI, the second-largest fleet management firm in the US, to make inroads into the UK.

FSG, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2012, currently handles more than 55,000 vehicles in the UK and manages fleets for Network Rail, WH Smith and Travis Perkins among others. The company claimed there would be no change to its staffing as a result of the acquisition.

Chairman and founder of FSG, Geoffrey Bray, said: "Both FSG and ARI are privately owned family businesses and have a similar ethos of partnering with customers and driving efficiency through pro-active management and a zero-tolerance approach to unauthorised expenditures."
