Vauxhall Astra gains Biturbo power

Date: 10 August 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Vauxhall has added high-performance Biturbo diesel-engined models to the Astra and Astra Sport Tourer ranges.

The 2.0-litre unit, recently announced in the three-door Astra GTC, produces 195hp and is potent enough to get both cars to 62mph in less than eight seconds and on to 135mph, while emissions and economy stand at 134g/km and 55.4mpg for both.

All models fitted with the new engine will bear the recent facelift and Biturbos will be fitted with external features including 18-inch alloy wheels, twin rear exhausts, an exterior styling pack and aluminium sports pedals.

First deliveries are due in late 2012 and prices will start from £24,095 for the hatchback and £25,110 for the Sports Tourer.
