Volvo supplies Tristar with chauffeur fleet

Date: 21 February 2012   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

Volvo has supplied 53 four-wheel drive Volvo XC models to airport chauffeur company Tristar Worldwide to cope with wintry road conditions when transporting Virgin Atlantic's upper-class passengers to and from airports.

Divided between 18 XC70s and 35 XC90s, the cars are part of a rolling three-year contract. All the Volvos supplied are fitted with the brand's City Safety anti-collision radar system.

Dean De Beer, Tristar Group's chief executive, said Volvo was well-known for its safety features and "we can be confident that with our new Volvo XC70s and XC90s we can tackle whatever the British weather throws at us."

Selwyn Cooper, Volvo's UK national corporate operations manager, said timing and reliability are vitally important to Tristar, to whom they have been supplying vehicles for more than 15 years.
