VW has launched a small business leasing initiative intended to bring new fleet opportunities to its dealers while enabling them to better serve the needs of local small enterprises.

It has opened a dedicated leasing contact centre, which has dealt with more than 345 enquiries since starting last month. It says that all "all small business needs and drivers' lifestyles are catered for" through the programme with vehicles available in every sector.

A spokesperson said the move was intended to particularly help small businesses which were lacking awareness of different leasing and funding arrangements and which might normally only consider outright purchases rather than contract hire.

The manufacturer encourages SMEs to go to its website www.Volkswagen.co.uk where a quote can be generated and details will be passed onto the relevant local retailer.

64 of Volkswagen's 214 dealers are business centres.
