Allstar partners with the AA to launch recovery fuel card service

Date: 23 July 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Fuel card provider Allstar has launched a new partnership service with the AA, which sees the latter offer its services to the Allstar's entire fuel card customer base on a pay-if-you-need-it basis.

Known as Allstar Plus, the package is now available to anyone with one of the company's fuel cards, and opens the AA's breakdown recovery up to drivers without the need for an annual subscription, although there will still be a charge for drivers that use it.

The tie-up "guarantees" users roadside assistance and discounted prices at nearby repair centres.

Allstar has recently been dogged by accusations of poor service since it introduced a series of service charges and simultaneously suffered from an absence of mileage data at the start of this year.

Paul Baker, head of networks at Allstar Business Solutions, said: "For fleets wishing to minimise overheads, pay-for-use vehicle breakdown and Fuel Assist cover offers a flexible alternative to paying an annual fee for a service that may never be used."
