The start point for the best source of fleet information

Arval adds electric BMW Active-e to its fleet

Date: 29 April 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Top five leasing company Arval has added a BMW Active-e prototype to its fleet.

Based on the lower medium 1-series, the all-electric model is one of the cars that was used by the German manufacturer as part of its Olympic fleet during the 2012 Games last summer and will be used as part of Arval's own fleet for "at least the next six months," according to the firm, with the intention of improving its staff's understanding of EVs.

The leasing giant will also showcase the vehicle at events and offer customers the chance to drive it.

David Bushnell, fleet consultant at Arval, said: "Having driven the Active-e, it's a really refined electric car.

"We are regularly asked about new technologies by our customers so it's crucial to have access to these vehicles so that we can make customers aware of the benefits and practicalities involved and can also take an educated view on how it could be successfully incorporated into their fleet."
