Audi A3 identifies cheapest petrol stations

Date: 17 May 2013   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

Audi is adding a new optional online device to its A3 range, allowing drivers to pinpoint local fuel stations and monitor pump prices via a hard disk-based system on both three- and five-door models.

Available from this month on the A3, the system will be rolled out to the majority of Audis during 2013, with the TT and R8 benefiting at later undisclosed dates.

As part of the top-level Mobile Phone Preparation with Audi Connect option, it consults an online database to list the cheapest filling stations in the immediate area, at the driver's destination or at locations of their choice.

As a result, the driver can choose the fuel station by price or distance and set it as a navigation destination.

The Connect option must be incorporated into the hard disk-based Satellite Navigation Plus as part of the Technology Pack High system, costing £1795.
