BMW launches new fleet-focused models

BMW has announced new fleet-specific versions of the 1-series, X1 and 3-series Efficient Dynamics models.

The Business version adds leather interior and BMW's Business Media package including satnav and heated seats, while the X1 and 3-series also get upgraded alloy wheels.

The Business models cost £1400 more than the standard Efficient Dynamics models, but BMW claims the additional kit is worth an extra £1000 on the 1-series and X1 and £1300 on the 3-series on top of the added cost.

BMW has also announced the locations of the 46 dealers that will offer the new electric and plug-in i range, starting with the i3 model coming late this year.

The sites are taking deposits for the cars already, and will be the only ones with "specialist technical capabilities allowing them to carry out repairs to the vehicles' high-voltage batteries", said BMW, although the brand also confirmed that a wider network will be established to deal with what it described as general service, maintenance and repair of the i vehicles.

"With the announcement of our BMW i retail network we are open for business and taking deposits on the i3 and i8," said BMW's UK managing director Tim Abbott.

"Our BMW i dealerships are located in the areas of the UK with the highest concentration of population."
