BMW reveals 4-series Convertible

Date: 28 October 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

BMW has revealed the first official images of the 4-series Convertible. Based on the 4-series Coupe and a replacement for the outgoing 3-series Convertible, it comes with a three-piece folding metal hard-top and is lower, longer and wider than the model it replaces.

One diesel and two petrol engines will be available from launch in March 2014. The 420d SE model is most noteworthy for fleets, as it is both the cheapest, at £36,675, and the most economical with official figures of 55.4mpg and 133g/km.

As with the 3-series saloon/Tourer and the 4-series coupe, the drop top can be specified in Sport, Luxury, Modern and M-sport trim levels, and BMW claims there has been a "marked" increase in equipment over and above the previous 3-series Convertible, but there has also been a price increase of around £500.
