Road safety charity Brake has held its annual Fleet Safety Conference and Awards.

Prize winners at the awards included highways and airport services firm Eurovia Group, which picked up the Fleet Safety Innovation Award for its road safety campaign Drive For Life, which has seen it reduce crashes by 44% over the two years the campaign has run.

Meanwhile, Allied Bakeries won the Eco Fleet Award, having integrated its two delivery services, removing 39 routes and reducing mileage by 4.4% in 2011-2012.

It has also introduced more aerodynamic vehicles, reducing fuel consumption by 4%. Meanwhile, more than 100 delegates attended the conference, which featured speakers on topics such as in-vehicle technology.
