BusinessCar Techies 2013: The winners

Date: 20 August 2013

2013 BusinessCar Techies winners have been announced

BusinessCar's one-of-a-kind awards celebrating technology in the fleet industry have returned for 2013.

This year marks the fifth annual appearance of the BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards, and the Techies, as they're more commonly known, continue to celebrate the best there is in modern, practical and evolutionary methods of operating vehicles for commercial purposes.

The judging panel consists of ACFO chairman and head of operations at Bracknell Forest Council, Damian James, along with BusinessCar's editorial team: editor Paul Barker, deputy editor Jack Carfrae and Techies founder and contributing editor Tristan Young.

Having a recognised, working fleet operator on our panel gives the Techies a dimension of real-world gravitas, while the BusinessCar team's experience and knowledge of the industry's latest developments mean they know a clever and useful product when they see it. Their decisions ensure that the results reflect the things that really matter to the fleet community.

We felt that last year's categories accurately reflected the way in which the industry was heading, so we retained those of the 2012 awards.

However, this year BusinessCar decided against awarding the Best Customer Service Initiative category, as we felt that the standard and quality of entries wasn't up to the levels required by switched-on fleet operators, proving that the Techies judging is a diligent process and that these awards have to be earned.

Each of this year's winners and those who achieve Highly Commended spots (we award up to two when the calibre is particularly high) can be proud that their developments are the most practical, helpful and worthwhile to fleet operators and that they have genuinely moved the game along.
