Digital DAB radio decision due at end of 2013

Date: 23 July 2013   |   Author:

An announcement on the switchover to digital radio will come at the end of this year, with the Government debating the timescale for turning off the analogue receiver.

The latest figures from Cap and the SMMT showed that almost 40% of new cars are now fitted with a digital radio, compared with 25.1% in June 2012 and 12.1% a year earlier.

Residual value setters have long warned that a timescale is needed in order to understand the residual value impact of cars not being fitted with DAB radios.
