Fiat 500 family to grow

Date: 15 May 2013   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Fiat will focus on growing its small car range by building on its successful models.

A spokesman told BusinessCar that following the introduction of variations to its biggest selling cars, the Panda and 500, such as the Panda 4x4 and the new 500L as well as the Panda and 500 Trekking, the brand would look to extend these ranges further.

This is likely to include a seven-seater 500L as well as a crossover iteration, a popular trend in the small-car arena.

Meanwhile, a source hinted that its Bravo and Punto models, which are five- and eight-years old respectively, will not be replaced at the end of their cycles. Instead, the carmaker will concentrate on growing sales off the back of its halo car, the 500, and surprise success, the Panda.
