Skoda's mid-life revision of the Superb upper medium model will be launched in the UK this June, boasting improved efficiency and a subtly revised front and rear end.

The firm says the front and rear are both completely redesigned, with the grille, headlamps, bumpers, front wings and bonnet all new, while the rear is also redesigned compared to the outgoing model.

Skoda claims emissions improvements of 19% on some engines, though the only figures it will confirm at this stage are that the 1.6 TDI Greenline version drops from 114g/km to 109.

Other tweaks to the car for the mid-life revision include new separate buttons for the twin-opening tailgate, and a function aimed at private hire and chauffeur drivers where the front passenger seat can be electronically adjusted from the rear seat. Skoda has also introduced the latest version of Park Assist which now supports both parallel parking and reversing into bays.

Further emissions details and pricing will come in the next few weeks.
