First rental broker joins BVRLA

Date: 01 November 2013   |   Author:

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association has signed up its first rental broker member, with hope of "a number" of others joining in the coming weeks.

Solihull-based Fownd is the founder member of the BVRLA's rental broker division, with the association declaring that by bringing brokers into membership, it will for the first time be representing the entire vehicle rental sector.

All joining companies will have to pass the BVRLA quality assurance inspection, participate in its conciliation service and sign up to its code of conduct requiring pricing and services to be clear and transparent.

"We have worked with the BVRLA over the past few months to ensure this isn't just a tick-box exercise - we have had to demonstrate that we can uphold the code of conduct and have our policies and processes audited," said Fownd managing director Christopher Dean.

The BVRLA has had leasing brokers among its membership for the past decade, but this is the first time rental brokers have been part of the organisation.

"Developing this new membership category is vital if the association wants to continue raising standards and promoting best practice within the rental sector," said BVRLA boss Gerry Keaney.
